Amazing talent

It's not very often I come across someone so brilliant that it takes my breath away! Dominique Falla of the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, is one such talented lady. She is known as the “Tactile Typographer” due to the specific nature of her art practice, combining craft mediums with a digital aesthetic. "How?" I hear you say. Well, it goes like this:

The artworks are first hand-drawn, then scanned and redrawn in Illustrator before being made from pin and string. Hundreds and hundreds of metres of string!

It has to work on several different layers; visually, contextually and be understandable to the masses. If it can't deliver on these points, then there is no point... except maybe to make someone smile!
